Hello Pierre, I think it was produced by Helen Leake's Duo Art Productions here in Adelaide, why not drop them a line, they're usually accommodating - Helen is our biggest producer.
Hey Chanel, my friend. Long time, no talk. I hope you're well? Thanks for the tip, I didn't have that info. I'll give it a day here to see if anybody has it then I might contact Helen.
Pierre, I watched Paper Planes and it's everything bad in an Australian movie - Screen Australia had a hand in it, need I say anymore? The premise is good, the execution appalling - Sam Worthington displayed amateur acting skills, every cliche and script device known in the industry was utilised, how can they fund a film of this poor quality is beyond me - it's obviously an exercise in not what you know, but who you know - I presume Sam and the director/writer are known to each other from way-back, neither has done the other any favour if this is the best they could come up, with - what are your thoughts?
Hi Chanel, I haven’t seen Paper Planes and I don’t know the story but when a known actor’s performance comes across as poor then I tend blame the director. Robert Connolly directed and co-wrote this film and, as I said, I don’t know the story so I don’t know if that is partially to blame so I have to assume that either the director can’t direct or some other factors were involved or a combination. This was the eighth project he as directed so he should have a reasonable idea of what he’s doing by now so perhaps something else was amiss. Whether an actor’s talent shines naturally or not, the director should be the one to coax that talent out to ensure that each scene is portrayed the way it was intended. I have personally seen instances where an actor’s performance has resembled nothing more than a repeat wannabe high school performance even though I know the actor has previously won awards and I know the director was inexperienced. It’s so obvious the blame lies squarely on the director’s shoulders. Perhaps In the case of a director who has some experience, there may be a combination of factors involved such as, they didn’t have time to do the scene over and over until they got it right or perhaps it was a simple case of not knowing enough to recognise what works and what doesn’t work? Was it just Sam’s acting that appeared amateurish or was that a trait displayed by other actors in this film? I’d love to try my hand at directing but I’m looking for a director to guide me through my first one. I had one lined up who was eager to help but he’s since left the country for a couple of years for work. Perhaps when my day job settles down again I’ll revisit that idea.
Pierre, Robert Connolly is quite accomplished on paper, I haven't seen any of his films other than Paper Planes, but in my humble opinion he fell far, far too short re quality filmmaking - perhaps it's me, but I like to think I have a semblance of an idea of what a good film should look like, and considering the talent that worked on this film, a pretty poor effort - let me know if you see it, perhaps I know bugger-all, lol.

I have the script for Wolf Creek 2 if anyone has the script for part 1 and/or the TV series scripts?
