Screenwriting : Write from Wrong by Kevin Johnson

Write from Wrong

What's up my connects? A lot of us remember growing up and our parents saying "Why did you do that?, you know right from wrong!" Well that saying still exist for us writers today, kind of... Did you know the average person (not me, LOL) can type on average 40 words per min which is great. That's 1200 words every 30 mins. Did you know that the average novel is 300 words per page. So that means you can type 4 pages in 30 mins. So with that being said. You know WRITE from WRONG!! Write 4 pages a day. it only takes 30 mins out of your busy life. Wrong is not doing anything and then complaining. You are great!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! Lets go!!!

George R R Martin interviewed Stephen King a few years back, astounded that Stephen King could knock out as many pages a day as he could. I, however, am in the George camp - there are those days when you just can't get your mind's legs to unstick from the muck and end up revising what you've written the previous day. There's no shame in slowly slogging and synonym-searching for sure - Just don't be George R R Martin-level slow.

I love the way you think, Kevin! I do the same kinds of mental exercises all the time, just to see what's possible.
