I have done a little acting. But I am crap (and self aware). I did a few short films. I think an acting class would be great to learn how scripts can be interpreted.
I haven't but I sometimes think it may help - I can't shake my thick local accent though. Reading your script aloud is a good tool too - even if you can't act it can help to highlight clunky dialogue etc
I took a couple years of drama in high school as well as an improve class. I suppose improve does help you to come up with a multitude of options for how a scene can play out. I wasn't a very good actor in high school but they did allow me to write plays to perform so I guess in that way it helped me as a writer.
Charles Dickens had a mirror in his office he used to imitate his characters facially and to act out his dialog. I think his love of acting was one of his secrets to developing all of his amazing characters. He ended up on tours performing scenes from his books in front of audiences.
It's an AWESOME idea! I took an "Acting for Non-Actors" class as part of my university education (I was a Writing & Directing Major) and it was immensely helpful.

I haven't, but I've heard a number of professionals recommending it for screenwriters, as it helps with the craft.
