Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted here, but about six months ago I posted about securing my first paid screenwriting gig. I was hired to write a 12-episode web series about teens and the issues they face. It was a dramedy carried by a fun, silly plot line yet pulled back the veil at times to show that life isn't all that it seems. Think Boy Meets World in the 90s. Well...the pilot episode premiered this week and I just wanted to share it with everyone. I'm excited for what the future holds.

Congratulations! Oceans of inspiration to you for the rest of episodes, grandiose success for all of them and more paid screenwriting gigs for you!

Excellent news, Jarrod. Can you share some details on how you came to land the gig? Sure it would inspire others here!

RB... it was actually a little bit of luck. I joined some of the local film scene's Facebook groups. There is one in particular for screenwriters, and the producers of the show posted that they were looking for screenwriters. I responded, sent a writing sample, and the rest was history. Sometimes it is just that simple. Don't be afraid to look, and put yourself out there. Granted, I probably won't get this lucky for a long time but I'm certainly grateful.

great job! By the way, I would ask whoever is doing the Show's CREDITS to move your name off the Crew List. Your solo credit should follow after the Director & Producer.
Appreciate you sharing, Jarrod. Biggest takeaway: gotta put yourself out there! Gotta work it! Good on you for doing just that and reaping the rewards!

Awesome! And the next episode will be completed when?
Dan, I agree I should have a solo credit but I'm not going to throw a fit over it. This is the producers' first project also, and I'll have plenty more opportunities. I appreciate you looking out for me, though.
Izzibella, next two episodes should be released next week. I'll probably share here, but feel free to subscribe to the channel also. That's where they'll be.
Thank you, Giorgi.
