So, I head on to YouTube to find some music to work to, and I see this live stream. It's pretty common in the LoFi world, but what I notice is the opportunity for chatting and engagement as part of the event. With the coupling of distribution and online chatting, I do wonder if preparing for such an event constitutes "transmedia", since you do have to consider how the audience engages with the material in (at least) two different forms.
What do you think?

"Bingo! Yahtzee! Is that your final answer? Our survey says, 'Transmedia'!" - Adapted quote from Bruce Almighty.

It's a live digital event, which allows both the content creator and the audience to actively participate in the content being created, much like a concert or play. I see this all the time with some of the YouTube channels I follow. I'll watch their daily videos and sometimes participate in a live event where we get to talk directly to them as they record their videos thus heightening the experience

Live-Streaming as a Transmedia Medium? Absolutely, yes! I even did it myself for Titan Effect by collaborating with the Secret Story Network, which was a live interactive experience.

For sure! Twitch is a great example of this - it started out, and continues to be, the main hub for live stream gaming, but now you can watch anything from animal webcams to cooking, music, fitness, and even people sitting in hot tubs. Why, who knows. But all the while, you can interact in the chat and save clips of the video to share.

I feel like I've somehow graduated LOL Thanks, all! It's weird - I know ABOUT Twitch, even participated in a fundraiser once, but mostly don't keep up with it. I'm more familiar with Discord, which seems to be keeping things one-note. Your mention of watching people in a hot tub gave me an idea, though, HB Duran... will ponder on it and get back to you!
