Hello, everyone. I'm kicking the tires here, interested in networking. I'm a screenwriter living in the Chicago suburbs, repped by Zero Gravity Management. I co-wrote "Victim" (a low budget horror film) and "Arena" (action/thriller with Samuel Jackson and Kellan Lutz), and I've optioned other work. I'm a novelist as well, and a chili pepper fanatic. I'm actively working on new material. Good luck to all in your present and future projects.

Good luck with the transition to LA and finding TV work. I got repped after finishing a certificate in screenwriting through UCLA. I wrote a spec with a partner and it caught the interest of 2 different companies. I wound up going with ZG. I've written many specs for them since. Still at it!

Thanks. Will do.

Michael, I discovered Arena on Netflix and thought it was a pretty good action flick! Nice to be able to connect with one of the writers. :) Best of luck to you as well.
Thanks, Malcolm.

Hi Michael, welcome to Stage 32! I'm a screenwriter too, but with no sales or representation. Seeing you here gives me hope my luck may take a turn for the better someday, though, so thanks for proving it can be done. :-)
Same to you Michael !

I've written a few novels, and also under a pseudonym. They do fairly well. I've written chili pepper cookbooks. Lots of fun. Different streams of income while also getting more scripts out there, though I'm working on more novel projects lately and I have a couple new scripts to send around. Go figure - an obsessed writer! =)

I've been on an evening scriptwriting course with Oxford Uni which was a great experience. Just finished by first play, that is I still need to tidy it up and finish typing my notes. Should have done this year's ago. Any hints on pitching and finding an agent would be great.

Thanks, Pepper. Shelagh, the best advice I can give is to make sure it is as polished as you can make it, then find managers or agents producing the same type of work and submit to them. You'll have a greater chance of connecting that way. Best of luck!
Welcome, Michael!

Michael, I posted a comment...and then everything went dark. I hope this does not repeat. Congrats on your successes, and on scoring with Zero Gravity. I read nothing but great things about them. I would love to chat about all things writerly as well as about Chili Peppers, although my taste runs a bit more to the Anthony Kiedis/Flea types -- but I do love a chipotle. Good on ya.

How about guacamole and tortilla chips Jeremy? With jalapenos...

Sounds good, Jeremy. Thanks for the connect. And Sylvia, now I'm in the mood for guac. Doesn't take much. =)

Sylvia, chips and guac (my Spanish-speaking students inform me it is pronounced walk-uh-mole-ay) are favorites here, with una cerveza Pacifico con lima. Jalapeños and Cotija make it just right -- and Michael here gets to host. And pay. It's a party.

Come on up. I own Julie's Cuban Restaurant here in Toronto. Guac & Chips very very popular here. We probably buy 25-30 cases of avocados a week. Check us out on facebook.com/juliescuban Let me know if you're ever in town.

I live in northern Cuba -- Miami - you'd love the food here.
Yes I do... stayed in South Beach...ate at several places.... really liked Yuca Restaurant. I called it Miami Cuban.... which is very different from the food in Cuba... that's for sure.
I visit a Cuban place in Bradenton, FL, when I'm in the area, called "Jose's". It was on DDD. Great Yuca soup and pulled pork. Yum!
What is DDD?

It is Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. Interesting way to discover out of the way restaurants with great food.

Big DDD fan here! I have Guy's books. One of my big screenwriting goals is to visit Hodad's in San Diego.
