What are some of your favorite Vampire films/tv shows and which of the characters are your favorite? What did you like about them? What would you have wished they'd have done differently?
The red-blooded female in me pegs Interview With a Vampire as my fave for Brad Pitt reasons, but I like most vampire flicks and segments in shows like Law & Order that have some suspense and intrigue.
Like Debbie, Brad Pitt puts Interview With a Vampire at the top of my list. But it's not just his looks that draw me in. He's so tortured, and Brad Pitt worderfully portrays this. I like most fantasy/supernatural movies and shows, and am probably the oldest living Teen Wolf (series) fan, but again the conflict between their primal instincts and human emotions is facinating to me.
Christopher Lee HAMMER PRODUCTIONS LONDON ... Yeah Naff but expertly crafted films from 1960’s. Seen so many Vampire films over the years that were over done on gore without emphasis on story of characters.
My current favorite is the 3-episode Dracula series: https://www.netflix.com/title/80997687 It takes a fresh look at the vampire canon and has a nun like no other!
Having been greatly involved in the creation and development of Friday the 13th-the series I have to admit I admired the Faustian bargain of it. You will get what you wish for but there's a deadly price to be paid for it.
Barnabas Collins from the daytime serial "Dark Shadows." It aired from 1966-1971. He transformed from being scary and evil to being caring and somewhat heroic. His redemption made him more likeable.
My fave vampire film is "Låt den rätte komma in [Let The Right One In]". It was amazing; super moody and emotional and a work of art. The most fun, for pure hoot entertainment factor, would've been the tv series "The Vampire Diaries".
Freyja: I agree! "Låt den rätte komma in [Let The Right One In]" is a Swedish classic! I wasn't as impressed with the American-British remake "Let Me In."
@JJ, Absolutely! Strangely as a stand-alone piece it was okay, but (for me, anyway) because it was a remake - and of a film that was so good and so worthy of being watched - it took on artistically ethical negative qualities XD
