I'M IN!!!!! THANK YOU Screencraft and Buffalo 8 Productions. I have accepted an invitation to participate in the Screenwriting Residency Program at the Bahamas International Film Festival with my script Stone Drive Dec. 1 - 4th. When it rains it pours... my agent is in the middle of a negotiation with a Producer in NYC... looks like we're going to have to postpone the negotiations for a month, because I really really want to do this. We'll be on the island of Eleuthera for these 4 days, which is a trip in itself only accessible by boat... it's 1/2 mile wide and 110 miles long. The festival runs from the 1-12th on another island. I'm so excited. This year's mentors include: Vince Gerardis: Producer (HBO’s Games Of Thrones) Dan Guando: Weinstein Co. Executive Vice President of Acquisitions, Production & Development Elizabeth Hunter: Producer and Writer of such hit movies and TV shows as Jumping the Broom, Beauty Shop, Charmed and ER. Taylor Benzie: Literary Manager at Kaplan/Perrone Sean Covel: Film Producer (Napoleon Dynamite, Beneath, Cafe) Cameron Cubbison: co-founder of ScreenCraft, studio-trained development executive Matthew Helderman: CEO and co-founder at Buffalo 8 Productions and Bondit Along with a 'surprise' Mentor TBA... Anyone else from Stage 32 going? Let's meet up.

Whew!!!! I really had to pinch my self. I can't wait to meet the group. Four days in paradise. Look up the Island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. I fly into Nassau, then an island hopping plane to Harbour Island, then a boat to Eleuthera.. This island's beaches, the sand is pink. Cool.

Wohow, Sylvia! I do hope you'll post from the retreat! I'll watch your wall.
What a great idea Sarah. I hope I can... I do know that in parts of the Caribbean it's so intermittent.
Thank you Norma. :-))

This is amazing news Sylvia, congrats on all the good things coming your way. =) I must say your story is encouraging, I left the biz a number of years back after selling a couple of projects (that did get produced) because I was terrified of success. Good to see someone else who had detours get back on top. I will keep climbing....

@Emma... Thanks Sweetie... I sure hope so. If nothing else it'll be an adventure just getting there. Flying in to Nassau, then onto an island hopper plane called Pineapple Airlines and then by boat, just to get to the hotel.
