Screenwriting : Seeking a screenplay by Derek Franzese

Seeking a screenplay

Where is the best place to find screenplays to view and or find log lines to for a film you would like to finance? Are there literary agencies that are more inclined to help find scripts being produced for under 6.5 million dollars that anyone knows of? Particular agents people like?

Regina Lee

Hi Derek, if you're talking about "Hollywood" talent agencies, all the major agencies have a version of a Film Finance/Packaging/Sales/Indie department. I'm not clear on what you're asking here. If you're saying you have $6.5 M in your pocket, and you are looking for an indie movie to finance, any of the agencies will want to help you spend your money! You will need to prove that the money is there to make offers or to start production, depending on the status of the project you commit to (i.e. escrow account or similar). Know what models work for you (i.e. genre, how star-driven, how international, what level director, etc.). If you need a consultant, I would be happy to do an intro call or try to hook you up with someone appropriate to help you.

Derek, you could post in the jobs section here on ST32, just be clear in what you are looking for. You may also want to reach out to Joey Tuccio here. If you have the means to finance and want to take pitches from writers here.

Beth Fox Heisinger

Yes, perhaps post in the Jobs section. That's where members post various "want ads," or script submission requests, or searches for creative partners -- paid or not paid. Derek, you could also utilize the Connect feature and search our membership by occupation. Most screenwriters have loglines and/or scripts posted on their profile pages that you may view or download. :) Best to you!

Hi, I found a good place to view scripts and loglines in on Inktip.com My short scripts were listed there for some time, and I also uploaded loglines of two Feature films I completed. Good luck in whichever way you go. kind regards. Kathleen.

You can also try Slated.com, which is a platform that aims to put packaged projects together with private financiers.

I've posted some on Theblacklist where you can have them reviewed and rated by industry pro's if you like.
