For what it's worth, I've been very impressed with Screencraft's contest judges. However, one of my previous clients (who consulted with me via a grant he received) received confusing coverage from Screencraft. Granted, the confusion might be the story analyst's "fault" or the screenwriter's "fault"; I don't know. It's possible the writer misinterpreted the feedback. In any case, I'll give a very brief description so as not to give away private info. The project was a horror script which needed a horror-appropriate bad guy. The coverage advised that the writer make the bad guy "less bad," and that suggestion was truly not appropriate for the genre. I've been wary of Screencraft coverage ever since, but my experience with them is very limited and it's indirect. Would love to hear more specifics from Phillip Hardy. Thanks!
There are many places that offer coverage notes, some reasonable, some average, some poor and some new ones that offer cut-throat prices. But you’ve gotta ask yourself if you’re really getting the service you need or are you getting components of your script feed into a cookie-cutter template. There are very few that offer better than reasonable and I think that’s because it can be somewhat subjective in that if a writer likes what they receive, then they will consider it good but if they don’t then they’ll most likely not use that service again, but a lot of this comes down to where the writer is in their career and how mature they are as a writer. No one can tell you “Apply the recommendations I suggest and you will sell your script”. All they can do is to offer suggestions on how to make your script presentable, how to improve your story, your character’s journey and your dialogue. How to set your script apart from the crowd of average scripts by elevating it above the average. You can get notes here, you can get notes there, I provide notes too, as well as a proofread / edit to get your script to a submission ready state. Regardless of who you choose, I hope you get notes that will help you in your journey.
My name is Shane Davis. I am working on a full length screenplay. I have a question or two. When writing a scene where my character is walking around the block in a neighborhood setting how do I write the heading? For example, would this be the right heading EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD DAY? If a person just turns corner to left and walks down a bit. Would I use the above heading and then underneath place AROUND LEFT CORNER. Super confused.
I start with free listings, like screenplayfest.com and simplyscripts, and wait for the armchair filmmaker trolls to tear it apart. But beware, they're relentless!

Screencraft.org is reasonable and provides professional feeback. Also No Bullscript does good work.
