Hey S32 friends, haven’t been around much, between writing and the day job, just not enough hours in the day lately! But I did want to share that my short script, “The Date” won last weekend at the Portland Comedy Film Festival. Super fun event and great people!
I’ve placed in a lot of contests, top 10 and runner-up, but this is my first actual win so I’m pretty stoked!

Jody: The folks that run that festival are really nice. I've gone to the Austin Comedy Short Festival, which is run by the same team. Mikal Fair is a lovely guy. Oh, and congrats on your well-deserved award.

Congratulations Jody. They failed to send my industry pass this year so I didn't attend. Is this the same film that won at the Eugene International FF a couple of years back?

Doug Nelson No, I’ve never entered that contest. This is a screenplay I wrote just a few months ago.

Congratulations Jody Ellis. Its so rewarding to finally get that win! I just had a win at the Orlando Edge Film Festival and its such a buzz to finally see that laurel and know that all the hard work you put into your project has been acknowledged. Well done!
