I starting querying managers yesterday and received three read requests within hours. This feels very exciting. Friends are saying I should get an entertainment lawyer and get ready! lol.
That’s awesome! I’ve only received one read request, but have also only made about 7 queries. That one request definitely didn’t come in within hours either...lol
You write about some very serious subject matters and themes that are very personal to you, and that are very potentially compelling dramatic stories that the Powers-That-Be may be interested in producing, D.J.
It's not surprising that managers would be interested in something that fits that bill; is unique and not-derivative; and is something that they haven't heard before.
Much continued success in the writing of your stories, and in impressing those gatekeepers, D.J.!
D.J. did you make these connections through the Stage 32 network or in some other manner? I'm just to the point where I feel as if I can legitimately start querying agents and managers.
My advice is to be short and sweet. Include your log line, mention any competition placements and in the subject line say something that will catch their attention. I wrote Horror Script by Sex Addiction Therapist.

D.J. Thank you for the lead. I think I am almost ready to start reaching out to some.

Congrats! Any advice on what to write in a query email?
