What would you like it to be?

I've been doing it for a living for 30 years, now.

It's a hobby if you have no intention to do anything about getting things made.

for most a hobby for some a profession...

The simple answer is: Yes.

For me it was a hobby until I started winning contests.

You’re whatever occupation you put down on income tax forms.

It all depends if you get paid or produce your own movies.

Everything is hobby until you get paid :-) Passion is what helps you to find the motivation in between.

It's not a profession for me, I just want to tell a particular story and though I am hoping it will one day be made into a film and I will be taking steps to make that happen, such as pitching etc, I'm not writing lots of screenplays to sell.

It's a vocation for me now that I'm not producing documentaries anymore. I have several screenplays I'm working on during this stay-at-home pandemic, and I plan to enter them in competitions when I think they are ready to be judged. I will also pitch them, too. This will become a profession if one of them gets optioned and I receive payment for it.

Pierre Langenegger For me, if it is not a hobby, it will not be a profession. Because it depends on how sincerely I am doing even though I'm still in the beginning of the road.

Depends...

I write 5-6 days every week and it's full time hours. The number of hours I spend on it it's definitely not a hobby to me, it's my life, it's who I am.
