Our Yale Prof taught us no one is a screenwriter until you sell a script. Although my 21 feature screenplays of every genre and 8 SAG-Shorts I wrote/produced/directed have earned me 93 Wins & 175 Nominations on IMDb, I still get asked "Who?" So I took to heart what Rich said to me on Zoom last year that if your significant other not only won't support you but actually ridicules your efforts, "You have to make a decision." I am now am in the process of selling everything and divorcing my wife of 35 years who never read any of my stories or watched any of my movies, including the 80 I was just an actor. I am moving to L.A. with a simple mantra, "I sell a script or die homeless," whichever comes first.
Sounds like your wife might miss your furniture...
Seriously, congratulations on making the big commitment. Fame and/or fortune or not, may you live and die with no regrets for doing it.
That was Harvy Cox who said that. I don't remember why he said it or anything else. But I think it might be the title for your next screenplay
Lawrence, I'm glad you are here! Thank you!
Well that's a commitment alright! Don't forget to enjoy your life in between all of that...

Reads like your life is a beginning of a movie itself

I agree Alexander... maybe a documentary called F&^% It!
Hey Lawrence Whitener Start documenting your move! You've got something :)
Lawrence Whitener I'm so sorry about your circumstances. Not having the support of those you love and closest to you is soul-draining. As spouses, we don't understand the power we have to encourage our significant other or the consequences of not being a source of encouragement. As far as your professor goes, Yale professors can be wrong because they're human. And you, my friend, were always a screenwriter. My first hope for you is healing. Then, fulfillment.
