Introduce Yourself : Chicago ---> LA by Aylin Sipahi

Aylin Sipahi

Chicago ---> LA

Hi Stage 32 members! My name is Aylin (Eye-lin) and I'm a gradate student studying Creative Producing/Screenwriting at DePaul University in Chicago, but excited to finish my degree in Los Angeles.

I've been a development intern for Myriad Pictures, a story analyst for the BlueCat Screenplay competition for over a year, and now an intern for 13 Films and being mentored by the CEO of ScriptyPods. I've been a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and can't wait to start auditioning here in Los Angeles.

I'm currently writing two drama pilots and two drama features....I'm a fan of drama, if you couldn't already tell and would love to collaborate with other screenwriters and provide some feedback on scripts. I'll be sure to add those to my profile soon!

On a much bigger note, while I'm greatly enjoying my time here in LA, I'm very much a Chicago girl at heart and would love to have a hand in expanding the industry back in the Windy City. I'm curious to know if there is anyone on here who is based in Chicago, but working in LA, or vice versa. I understand that with the pandemic, virtual work has been vital to help the industry stay afloat and am curious to know if it's still vital to live in LA if you want to work in LA.

Just some quick facts about me:

Longtime idol: Lucille Ball

Some favorite TV shows: I Love Lucy, Breaking Bad, Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones, The Office, Ozark

Some favorite movies: Ford vs. Ferrari, Oceans 11 (1st one), Fight Club, The Aviator, 8 Mile, Catch Me If You Can, The Departed.

Hobbies: Playing with makeup (I post some fun ones on my Instagram @aylin109), working out, and going down a black hole on IMDb to read all the trivia about movies/tv shows.

Always happy to collaborate on projects and network with people who are also passionate storytellers.

Sam Rowland

Sincere intentions & endless obstacles, somebody wants something, somebody is standing in their way of getting it. Once upon a time - for that is how all great stories should begin - there was a mysterious writer named Aylin Lucille Sipahi, who dabbles in makeup & rainbows, comedy, antiquities and hum, American whiskey . .. Welcome Aylin, continued success !

Aylin Sipahi

Sam Rowland Oh no worries about being in the same zone as me, I'm all for learning from new people and those more experienced in the industry!

Great to meet you, Aylin Sipahi, and welcome to the community! First off, LOVE your post! This is in my vein of novel-writing, and I LOVE your specificity! Second, Chicago is a great town - what kind of resources do you think it has and how are you hoping to expand on them?

Ooo, that could actually be a very good topic for the Producing Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/producing) - I'd love for you to start a post in there! Of course, if you scroll through, I'm sure you'll find a slew of other conversations going on that will appeal to you as well.

Also, if you're looking for more people in the Chicago area, you can search members by location: https://www.stage32.com/people

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my blog post on how to get the most out of the Stage32 Community:
