I've been an agent for over 40 years - books and scripts and have been teaching for 30 years. Published a screenwriting magazine and several books on the business of screenwriting. Gave a TEDx talk on the mystery of screenwriting (why so many people do it so badly). Great believer in networking which is why I like Stage 32. Main interest is in how great writing affects the emotions of the audience. Also have a production company so see the development process from 360 degrees.

Hi Julian, I have noted the submission policy on your website regarding scripts, but would you be open to watching a short film (8 mins) and if the content intrigued you, reading the screenplay (10 pages) of the film? I ask, as I was once advised by an agent that the best way to get noticed was to get something made and I have a short film out to festivals, which has experienced some small, but recent success... kind regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew. No I won't look at a short. I can't sell it. I am not able to take on spec scripts at the moment. That might change.

Hi Julian, it’s wonderful to see you here. We met a loooooong time ago when you invited me to take part in a Workshop in Barcelona with top-notch writers / show runners like John Wells, Eric Roth and many others.
