Feature Script Read + Studio Level 60 Minute Talk with an Executive - Will McCance

I recently submitted my screenplay for the "Feature Script Read + Studio Level 60 Minute Talk with an Executive" and chose Will McCance, of Ian Bryce Productions. The one hour consultation call was just what I needed at this stage of my writing process. I spent the last 6 months rewriting a screenplay (a creature feature) I began years ago, and worked with a consultant on the outline, so I wanted input from someone I would hope to pitch to, when it's completed. I waited to request this kind of consultation for years, but Jason Mirch recommended Will, and the timing felt right. Will was impressed with my screenplay and offered several notes, while asking questions, so he could offer advice that also considered my objectives. I now have a fresh perspective on characters and themes, and I'm eager to incorporate his ideas as I complete the current draft. I would recommend this service to anyone getting close to pitching or submitting their script to contests, managers or producers. I chose Will because of his experience with my genre and I'm glad I did.

That's excellent, Sean Francis Ellis! Thanks for the recommendation.

Will McCance is great! Very personable which helps the experience. Best wishes as you rewrite.

Karen "Kay" Ross

That's fantastic, thank you for sharing!

Alan J. Field

Great, Sean! I was thinking about scheduling a time with him as well. Was he direct with you as to what genre he is looking for right now? I have a female-driven psychological thriller and a WW II biopic screenplay looking for a home.

I had a 60-min script consult with Will McCance on one of my feature film scripts which was encouraging, inspiring, and motivating. I also took his webinar and based on those interactions I signed up for and just completed his Pitch Like a Pro lab class. Will's insights and suggestions are priceless. I am now taking his advanced lab class for Pitch Like a Pro in which he teaches not only pitching but crafting a strong script. He is not only talented and knowledgeable but a caring person who creates a safe environment for students to share their works. I highly recommend Will's classes, webinars, and consults,

So glad to hear this Sean!

Yes, Will McCance recommended to me by Jason Mirch is excellent and had consults and his lab classes. Since then I was a top 10 finalist in the TV drama screenplay contest and now have a Tony award winning director attached to Freedom Code! We are now in the process of getting more investors for funding and talent. If interested in attaching eirher funding and/ or A list talent, our doors are open!

Maurice Vaughan

How's it been, Sean Francis Ellis? Do you have any updates on your script?

Maurice Vaughan

Huge congratulations, Ricki Linksman! :D Hope you and your team get the funding and talent!

Thank you! Stage 32 is super helpful!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Ricki Linksman. Stage 32 has been super helpful for me too. I meet almost all of my industry connections and I get almost all of my jobs through Stage 32.

The new draft is now completed, after getting notes from several other people, including coverage from Stage 32. All very constructive. I'm getting ready to start a new teaching job (after not working for a few months), so I'll resume pitching in the next few weeks. Need to get my verbal pitch worked out first! The new logline is:

"When hunters are found in the Canadian wilderness with their hearts torn out, a young First Nations man learns he is the last descendant of a legendary creature, and must embrace his mother's heritage in order to stop it, before it finds civilisation."

Maurice Vaughan

Congratulations on finishing the new draft, Sean Francis Ellis! I remember talking to you about THE LEGEND OF YAKATUTCH a while back. What are you going to be teaching?
