Hey LoLo, this is Karen from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Anything Goes to Authoring & Playwriting (since you're looking to connect with novelists), as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!
Wow Lolo that's fantastic! I've not attempted screenwriting since my last attempt which showed me I don't have the competencies yet. Praying I'll get someone to adapt it for me.
Prepare a pitch package for your books if you don't write the screenplay. Then submit to literary agents if you want. See what happens. You have nothing to lose
I just booked a pitch with O.Z then read the guidelines (it's 3.06am here in Sydney) and it says I must have a completed script. I've emailed 'writershelp@stage32 to ask for a credit. Night for now. It's been great to say hi and meet you all. Matthew I look forward to hearing what steps are next for you and D.E. Night night now.
Ann Maree, that's way cool. I'm waffling on writing my own script, but it appears easier to pitch a script than a novel. When I come up for air. I plan to write one. Not enough time in the day LOL
Lolo I'm looking into which screenwriting software to buy and start the journey in case I can't get an experienced screenwriter. Do you, D.E, Matthew, Kay Ross, Carina and Jeff suggest one over another? Final Draft seems to be one of them. TIA
Matthew, you're right. But for me at this point my near term goal is to establish a healthy backlist in the market so I can get a steady income stream, instead of the sporadic one I have now. My author dashboard looks like a high-mag seismograph, way up one day, and a nothing-burger the next. In between I'm working on my pitch, my scripts when I can and the rest. Roberta, stick with it. I've learned this isn't a talent game, it's a persistence game. Like Dory sez...Keep On Writing, Keep on Writing...LOL
@David my frustration is trying to find the time between novels to write my script for my series. Feels like I'm running after a train I can never catch LOL

Welcome LoLo! Nice to meet you. Glad you're here. I'm part of a small writer's group that meets weekly if you're interested.
Matthew Parvin, I do need to join a writing group to help me be accountable. What does your group do?
