I'm learning that watching films and writing screenplays are very different creatures, yet each informs the other. Why did that scene just choke me up? How can I do that too? Is there dialogue that can make an action hit deeper? And the good ol', show not tell. Ah, the learning process.

I do that as well, Michael Leo Witt. I'm always trying to learn from movies/shows so I can write better scripts. Have you seen those Script to Screen videos?

Keep learning. Try reading screenplays of movies you enjoy.

Hi Michael, this is something that many screenwriters struggle with. I agree with Howard, the best inspiration and encouragement to write comes from reading screenplays, and it's most fun to read ones for the movies you enjoy!
