Hi, Im Darren Howton, Co-Owner of The 3D Printers.
We have created movie props and costume parts for some of the biggest movies ever made. We work closely with production companies to create intricate pieces of the highest possible quality.
We are honoured to have worked on some incredible titles such as Bond, Harry Potter and Star Wars.
I look forward to exploring stage 32, and connecting with lots of new friends!

Welcome to the community, Darren Howton. You/The 3D Printers have worked with some big companies. I didn't know movie props and costume parts could be made with 3D printers.

Darren Howton Hi Darren, I see you are in the UK. You should reach out the one of the IIPG board members, Leigh Trifari, who is a senior producer and in the UK. Add me here and I can connect you two!

This house was a great project. The detail we gained was incredible.

You're welcome, Darren Howton. Is it cheaper to make movie props and costume parts with a 3D printer?

It can be, mainly due to the man hours saved. It's also great for creating multiple units either identically or slightly amended. Multiple units can also be created of different sizes.

Do you think 3D printing would work for Stop-motion Animation projects, Darren?

Nice, many many years back I couldn't get funding for a sci-fi short film because the powers that be kept saying it would cost too much to make the props (still don't buy it) but now people can just say they'll 3D print it

I agree, Darren Howton. I think 3D printing would be great for Stop-motion Animation because there are so many tiny props, set pieces, and characters used in a Stop-motion movie. Thanks.
