Contracts / Entertainment Attorney

Hi all, does anyone have any recommendations for an Entertainment Attorney? Ideally someone who will accept a single (reasonable) fee to review and advise on a contract. I'm negotiating with a US based production company who are interested in adapting one of my screenplays into an audio drama series but I don't want to sign away all my rights relating to the project.

Wendy Appelbaum

I have used someone in Canada - let me know if you want the name

Mehul Desai

Yes please Wendy, please DM me.

Molly Peck

Hi Mehul, we work with several entertainment attorneys here at Stage 32. Send an email to success@stage32.com and we can recommend you someone.

Jed Power

Hello Mehul, Thank you for asking this question. I hope to need a lawyers services eventually.and I'd like to have a name ready to use, instead of running around looking when I'm under the gun. I also wonder if it is best to get one in your area or if it can be all done just as well by phone/internet no matter how far away you are?

Jed Power

Maurice, Is this who you use?

Nick Moss

If Dane Johnson djohnson@deepfocuslaw.com has the bandwidth I would highly recommend him!

Roberta M Roy

How much can one expect the retainer fee to be?

Maurice Vaughan

I don't have Brandon Blake as an entertainment lawyer, Jed Power, but he really knows his stuff.

Jed Power

Thank you again, Maurice.

Jed Power

Roberta, good question. I wonder too and if you have to have local lawyer or can this type be all done by phone/computer?

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Jed Power.
