Greetings and salutations to the Stage32 community. I am a TV/Film director and all-around post production artist with many years of experience. I have spent many years directing, producing and creating video, motion graphics and animation for clients from business, sports, retail and entertainment industries. Most recently I have acted as the on-set director and post production supervisor for a growing streaming service which involves almost a dozen editors, multiple groups of videographers and talent, including one from the series Yellowstone.
When it comes to scriptwriting I am particularly passionate about keeping story and character first and foremost in all circumstances. If I have a soapbox to stand on about anything, that would be it.
I am always interested in learning more about my fellow artists. Feel free to reach out anytime.

Hi Chris Young! Greetings and salutations to you too! I completely agree with keeping story and character first and foremost in writing. Sound like you've had such an impressive career. Congrats on everything. Would love to connect on here! I recently joined as well.

Well met! Thanks for the kind words. You are absolutely right that the best way to learn and improve is simply to do it. Writing is re-writing, so keep at it and if you have a story you really want to tell then don't wait for someone else to produce it for you. Find like minded artists and make it happen yourself.
Hey, Chris Young. Nice to meet you. What's a post-production artist? Is it another name for an editor?

It's shorthand for the many hats I wear on the post production side. I have performed pretty much every duty in that area including motion graphics and effects. Plus my initial training was in fine art so the foundational tenants of composition and design have influenced my entire career.
If that's unclear or confusing I'd be happily well advised to change it. Thanks for the feedback.

Cool, Chris Young. No, it's not confusing. I just thought post-production artist was another name for an editor. I've been learning more about editing because I heard it'll help me write scripts.

First hand knowledge of any part of production will help with writing an effective screenplay. You can easily write yourself into a production corner otherwise. Even then, I know I learned a lot from the many mistakes I made in writing my personal feature film project, then trying to shoot it. Everything that came after was far superior in its execution.

I have a couple of series I’m working on getting produced and a film to finish, depending on finances and contract work. Thank you so much for asking.
