Just received this random message after posting in this introduce yourself forum;
"Message: Very talented? Who else thinks so? You're average... at best.
XXOO.
A Dose of Reality."
I wasn't, obviously, fishing for compliments, I was simply sharing my work, and everyone is of course, entitled to thier own preference and opinions, but random unprovoked (and in this case, taking into account this person evidently didn't do much research, uneducated) nasty comments are basically what's known as trolling.
I'm happy to receive constructive criticism, but trolling, albeit a fascinating psychological aspect of character, isn't, I hope a type of behaviour that is encouraged or allowed on this site...?
Regardless, this kind of behaviour; randomly feeling the need to send unprovoked negative messages to strangers is bizarre. Fascinating from a psychological aspect when considering what denotes the action; what could they be gaining? I have no idea who they are and don't care about thier opinion, so if it's an attempt to gain attention, why are they bothered about my reaction? I feel little more than pitty if anything... Strange. Shall be useful for future character development studies perhaps!
NB
Am new to this forum so shall post this as its own as its a sort of behaviour that ought to be on the admins radar, so apologies for the upcoming duplication!
Ah, trolls. Bizarre little creatures!
I put together a little video or 2 for them... :)
And
Enjoy!

Hi Catherine, I'm so sorry to hear this happened and not at all what we usually see in the Stage 32 community. We are known as the friendliest social network in the world and make this a safe space for everyone to share their creativity. I tried to find this message you shared but don't see it in the lounge. Can you send me a private DM with more details so I can look into this?

Hi Amanda Toney.
Thanks for your message. I got the lovely little note via my website contact form a few minutes after posting www.catherineadams.org on here, so it wasn't posted here, they felt the need to be a tad more direct lol. I sent a message about it with all the details to support@stage32.com x

If someone thinks I'm talentless/rubbish/worthless etc., then what the hey.
Can't please all the people all the time. shrug
But what on earth makes someone feel the need to randomly say stuff like that ? Am I that bad that people feel compelled to put me in my place to save the world from any further of my atrocities ..? Geez lol

Hello Catherine! Nice to meet you and sorry to hear you were treated that way. I have never understood why people think it's a good idea to send something like that to someone you don't know and never met, but I hope you have otherwise had a good Introduce Yourself weekend. Very impressive what you have been able to accomplish, and keep going!

Well Catherine... I would actually publicize the username/etc. of the troll. It is social media and public contact - people should know who they are dealing with.

Wow! That was quite a welcome. Welcome from the rest of us, Catherine.

I'm not sure publicly posting the trolls details wouldn't be feeding them the attention they seem to desperately want.
I've forwarded the details to Admin and anyone who wants to know the name and email they used, is welcome to DM me.

Catherine, I would not waste another ounce of energy on them. You know your worth. : ) Take that energy, put yourself above it, and create...create...create! : )

Don’t let it get to you. They sailed in on the loser ship and will be sailing out soon.

Welcome, Catherine! Please allow me to just get right into it..... SCREW THOSE LOSER TROLLS! They are nothing more than empty, worthless vessels living in mommy's basement. They serve absolutely NO PURPOSE in life, other than to post hatred and jealousy in their useless attempts to bring successful creatives down. Such sad, sad lives! Don't let these cyber scumbags get to you. Just KEEP GOING in your amazing pursuits and leave these d-bag losers in the rear view!
Thanks
Agghh any time I take the time to respond with more than 3 sentences, the message disappears!! Lol soooo annoying!

You could type your comments in Microsoft Word (or another word processor), then post them, Catherine Adams. That way if the comments disappear, you can repost them.

I know that, and of course copy and paste etc., etc., but it's not something you expect to happen (as it shouldn't) so it's annoying. But thanks for the reply :)
Accessing via mobile by the way. Perhaps a glitch?

You're welcome, Catherine Adams. I'm not sure if it's a glitch, but Stage 32 is redesigning the platform, so glitches are being addressed. You (or anyone) can email Technical Support with any issues (support@stage32.com).
