Hey S32 crew,
My name's Langley. I'm a new S32 mod over in Post-Production. I'm a Producer and Director with a focus on VFX and Virtual Production (Blender 3d, Unreal Engine).
What made me fall in love with movies was the magic of seeing the impossible come alive on screen. I love all things movie-magic. Practical FX, Miniatures, VFX, MUFX, trick photography, optical illusions. I'm all about tricking the eye to instill wonder.
I started in the industry just after highschool, working below the line on small indie shows on the East Coast, then moved west and broke into studio and network shows. I ended up in ATL a few years after that working on some of the Marvel and Netflix shows there, but realized that working below the line is never going to create above the line opportunities.
Since I left crew-work, I've been creating content both for myself and in partnership with marketing agencies and brands and things are more interesting and exciting every day.
In no particular order, over the course of my career I've been able to work on set as a:
Set PA
Office PA
Art PA
VFX PA
Accounting Assistant
Locations Assistant
Location Manager
Transportation Driver
Set Construction
Scenic Painter
Prop Fabricator
On-set Dresser
Dolly Grip
2nd AC
Digital Loader
Digital Imaging Tech
Assistant Editor
Picture Editor
Colorist
Art Director
VFX Producer
I'm very open to collaboration or chatting on any topic in film. I'm always available to answer any questions that I can.
I'm hoping to get to direct my first feature or pilot soon, but nothing specific is planned.

Langley Coleman Hey Langley! I mod over at the screenwriting lounge so it’s great to meet a fellow mod. I absolutely love what can be done in blender and UE! I write sci-fi and fantasy so I’ve always wanted to see those incorporated into those IPs - especially the steampunk space adventure. If you have time, head over to my profile and check out the loglines. Would love to see your work!

Great to speak again, Langley. Congratulations on becoming a Mod! Not sure if I already told you, but I'm a Lounge Crew member in the Screenwriting Lounge.

Hi Langley, I love SFX, VFX and optical illusions. Have you any favourites you've worked on in terms of 'tricking the eye'?

Emily J I wouldn't say that so much as I've been through the blender many-a-time! haha. Right now I'm between projects and looking for opportunities to beef up my vfx and directing reels. Unfortunately I've always got more ideas than time.
Julia Warren Hey Julia! I definitely have a few good go-to's. One would be First Man. I wasn't on the whole show for that one, but I was on set for a few of the coolest effects. I got to help fake the moon landing in a big quarry in ATL - it was so cold we got snowed out for a day or two - and the elec team had to fake the sun using two huuuuuuuge custom made lamps mounted on a construction crane like you see on skyscrapers. One of the bulbs actually blew at one point and they made due with the single lamp. (I think it was like 100,000Kw or something crazy like that, and had to be shipped from an overseas factory). Also on that same show there were several days on stage spent filming int and ext of the different space crafts. I loved seeing the anti-grav cranes they use to make the actors float through tight tunnels etc when they cant rig overhead.

Langley Coleman aaaargh all that snow - not envying that, but the sun sounds mega fun! (How much noise did it make when it blew, I wonder...)

Julia Warren unfortunately I wasn't there when it popped and I didn't think to ask such a good question

Langley Coleman I feel like I need an anti-grav crane that's camouflaged in my back yard just to freak the neighbors out. And yes, I would wear a cape.
