“We all understand that the companies’ continuing refusal to recognize and remedy the legitimate concerns of labor keeps us out on the picket lines, keeps the industry at a stand-still, and keeps thousands out of work.
“And so, we will continue to walk in front of every studio – and remind them that, whatever path they take, at the end of that path is the Writers Guild. And there is no way around us. See you all on the picket lines.”
The Report tells us that talks are making progress in some areas, but not in others. Sadly we don’t know what the ‘others’ comment may include.

Hopefully, there will be progress sooner rather than later. When will the studios learn from their mistakes?

Marcel Nault Jr. that’s a good question, Marcel! I think they thought they could wing it, but my hope is that their faith in that ‘flight’ will fail them.

It's important to constantly stay tuned in and watch the progress (hopefully) being made toward a deal. This is a hugely critical time for the industry. Standing firm with the WGA, SAG and the creative community is of the essence. Thanks for sharing, Geoff.

Thanks for sharing, Geoff Hall! I hope SAG-AFTRA forces everyone back to the table for the WGA strike as well and that we get a swift resolution

Sam Sokolow hi Sam. Yes, progress as in all such negotiations gains traction in some area but there are always sticking points. It seems it is those sticking points that bring us closer to a strike. I watch with eager anticipation, to see how this resolves.

You're totally right, Sam Sokolow, the best thing we can all do is keep informed about how the negotiations and conversations are progressing. Thank you for sharing, Geoff! It's hard for me not to get my hopes up because, in a perfect world, I want to see SAG push the conversations forward in a way that can positively impact the WGA as well. It's going to be a strange summer, but the impact that this time will have on the future of the industry is unquantifiable. I love this quote from the article- “Our eyes, though, are not on a date but a deal – on a goal,” That's powerful.
