Mike Disa's "three-legged stool" comes to mind when I read this. He urges all creatives to have three sources of income for such times as this. I would add an encouragement to others to widen their net and look at all possibilities as open doors. Look at what you're surrounded by and as you hope, think wider. Enlarge your tent. Good things can come from where you least expect it and the night won't last forever.

Disa sees the whole playing field. Always.

Agreed Richard "RB" Botto. There’s a guy I’ll have to meet some day.

A lot of us actors have never been able to rely on industry jobs to pay all our bills, so we've always had to have "day jobs" -- the industry is really hurting right now, but for those who know how to create their own content, there is tremendous opportunity right now -- especially with short form content and microbudgets.

I agree with the post producer, Richard "RB" Botto. If the SAG-AFTRA goes on strike, things will be a lot worse for creatives and industry pros, but things will also get a lot better in the industry by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA getting fair deals. I don't think the AMPTP is prepared for a double strike.

You're perspective, vision and approach is spot on William Joseph Hill. No surprise there. Control what you can control.

You're so right, Richard "RB" Botto, "Control what you can control" is absolutely the key!
We don't know how all of this is going to turn out. Things could get harder, yes, but they will eventually get better. The universe always finds balance. As my grandma likes to say, "It's just a season and seasons change" So we have to use this time to focus inward and give attention to things that we normally can't. If COVID lockdowns taught us anything, it's that. So utilize this time to create, explore, and learn. Beef up your skills, spend time with loved ones, work on yourself, stretch your interests into other areas, pick up jobs that allow you to expand your resume or pursue other passions, and keep informed about what's happening around you. Make sure that when this season ends, you're ready to make the most of the next one regardless of what it looks like. HOW we react to change makes all the difference.
