Financing / Crowdfunding : How to get A “Big Get” by Alexa Bisrat

How to get A “Big Get”

hey all!

hope these trying times arent keeping your creative minds and abilities at a block.

hopefully we see a brighter side to the biz sooner than later!

i'm justbposting this if anyone has any suggestions on how to get a major actor in your production?

specifically:

- best means of crowdfunding

- documentation

- how to professionally contact their agent/manager

- and any other expenses like providing travel and hotel stay etc...

To get a major actor in your film...connections, tons of money, an amazing script...a track record. Could be many things. Instead of reaching for the most unlikely scenario, have you considered scaling back, and trying something easier? Writing a short film, and getting budding actors to work in in pro-bono, then enter festivals?

Stephen Folker What Stephen said. You don’t need a big name, you need a good promotional and crowdsourcing campaign behind the project.

ps: I do believe there is a session still available for getting A List Talent here on Stage 32 on case you’re interested

I took that webinar yesterday and cannot find the handouts for the class. Unfortunately, I jumped the gun and have been calling big time reps for A list actors today and they are all asking me to follow up with an email. But since I don't have the handouts from yesterday, I guess I'll just craft my own. But: what I've learned today is to pick up the phone and ask. Everyone has been very nice so far.

Bradley Gallo can show you how way better than I can. Here's a link to his Stage 32 webinar on this very subject. Cannot recommend it higher. https://www.stage32.com/webinars/How-To-Approach-And-Attach-A-List-Talen...

Sometimes its tough to secure a major actor for your film, begin by thoroughly developing the project and crafting a compelling script or concept.

Create a solid budget for all necessary expenses, including actor salaries, travel, and accommodation.

Consider crowdfunding platforms for financing, and create an enticing campaign that highlights your project's unique qualities.

Merchandise for the film is good. I also have seen people do donations towards the film for Social Media Mentions.

It is always good to prepare professional documents, such as a detailed business plan and project proposal, and approach the actor's agent or manager with a well-crafted pitch.

In this biz relationships are everything, and build relationships within the industry, offer fair compensation as best as budget can provide, and ensure comfortable travel and accommodation arrangements.

Rejection is a thing and have backup options in mind, as securing a major actor can be a challenging but rewarding endeavor. People know people, who know more people, and know more people, who know the actor.
