Introduce Yourself : Hello from the "Nati by Doug Spak

Doug Spak

Hello from the "Nati

Hello Stage 32. As a 60-something screenwriter and copywriter, I'm proof that it's never to late to start something new. I sold my first screenplay, The Christmas Masterpiece, in 2019 and it started streaming on TUBI last year. The same producers commissioned me to write another holiday-themed story, and The Lights of Somerville enters production in 2024.

This is a blast! Really, at this stage of the game I've been rejected and failed at so many things. So, the fact of rejection in this industry doesn't faze me much.

I've put together an incredible team of production talent her in Cincinnati. My focus now is to raise investor money to produce a feature I wrote called The Pivot, a synopsis of which is in my profile. I have eight other completed scripts, all of which are low-budget, character-driven dramas and comedies.

It's great to be a part of the Stage 32 network, and I enjoy reading your profiles and hearing about your journeys as film makers. I wish you all great success, especially my Baby Boomer peers. Keep at it

Great to meet you, Doug Spak. I liked the Cincinnati Bengals as a kid. I think they were my first NFL team. Either them or the Dolphins.

Congrats, I like your attitude. I have a somewhat similar trajectory. I'm 'older' but as some might say, wiser, with more life experience and not unfamiliar with the feeling of rejection. Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing your work come to fruition.
