Doug Spak

Doug spent the bulk of his career as an advertising copywriter and sales promotion entrepreneur before becoming. a screenwriter.

Doug sold his first feature-length, spec script, "The Christmas Masterpiece," in 2018. The film was produced in 2020, was accepted by several film festivals, and began streaming on TUBI in 2022.

The producers of Masterpiece commissioned Doug to write another holiday-themed story in 2022. "The Lights of Somerville" is slated for production in 2024.

He is currently seeking investors for his most recent project, "The Pivot:" Here's the logline: The star of an elite Midwest dance conservatory battles an aggressive form of cancer in pursuit of her lifelong dream to perform on Broadway. In 2022, Doug raised money from a local investor to produce a "proof-of-concept" short of "The Pivot" that is being used as part of their pitch presentation to investors. I've included a trailer of the short in my profile.

In addition to six completed feature-length scripts, two of Doug's short film scripts were produced: "With This Ring," and "Retribution."
