I am super excited to share what I’ve learned about getting well known actors to work on short films! It was so surprising to me that famous actors actually wanted to work on shorts, I wish I had learned that when I first started.

I remember seeing famous actors in short films, Sydney Summers and John Trefry. I couldn't believe it. I think getting a famous actor in a short film would be huge for the filmmaker and production. This looks like it's gonna be a great webinar for filmmakers.

Rutger Oosterhoff top actors have always had an interest in exceptional short films. I've personally worked with a number of well known actors in my shorts including Emmy-winner Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk, Orphan Black), Zachary Levi (Shazaam!), Joe Keery (Stranger Things) to name a few.

Maurice Vaughan name actors can be really helpful for so many aspects of the process from fundraising to festivals and so much in between. Attracting that talent and securing those attachments requires us to elevate our approach but it can be done!

I agree with your general statement. And the actors/actresses you mention are great, but not "A list talent" (which is a contradiction of its own) Sydney was talking about. When you secured one if these: Emma Watson (... and yes, she played in a short in 2022), Gal Gadot, Margot Robbie, Isabelle Huppert, Leonardo DiCaprio, Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise (if you like him or not), or Keanu Reeves, give me a call.

Are Letters of Interest (or Letters of Intent) still a thing … as a way to get the "Packaging" ball rolling and bridge the “chicken-egg” gap?

What are the best ways to approach talent – via agent, manager, attorney, a member of their family, their social media, their production company (if any)?
