Hi everyone! An exciting and encouraging thing I want to share with everyone who are aspiring screenwriters and who have social anxiety. Today, I was able to be part of the pitching panel as a screenplay pitcher this year at the Richmond film festival! It was such a surreal experience as someone who has extreme social anxiety and is very unconfident when it comes to being the center of attention in a room. I signed myself up for the pitch list, walked up to the microphone and floored my pitch. of course because I was shaking and my heart was beating 100mphs per hour, I did miss minor details that I was asked about when receiving feedback. But the way I carried myself through my pitch and got the majority of my story details to come to life through my words caught the attention of many in the room today. Which is why to anyone who fears walking into a room and owning the center of attention, don’t! In this industry we are destined to be center of attention and display our story ideas to wide audiences! If you believe in your dreams and your stories but mostly in yourself. Fear will be non existent once you take that microphone at hand! keep writing and believing in yourselves!!!

I have extreme social anxiety. At school, yet, when the teacher wanted me to answer, I was paralyzed. and it did not get better with time. Congrats ! You can be proud of yourself ! Really. It was your first step. Go girl :)
