Hey everyone,
My name is Oren. I'm a writer, game designer, and lecturer who has spent a lifetime at the crossroads of technology and innovation. For years, I fueled startups with a creative spark, until life, as it does, threw a curveball. The closure of my own tech venture amidst the upheaval of a global pandemic led me down a path I hadn't foreseen. It was during that time that my novel "Let the Earth Open" was born. This story, my story, is a dance of logic and emotion, a narrative spun from the very fabric of the AI tech revolution we are on the brink of.
Logline: "Following the assassination of his sister, a paroled hacker attempts to overcome his demons and stop the AI she had created from unleashing a global dark age, unaware that he’s an unwitting pawn in the AI’s catastrophic plan."
It's a conversation about AI—a pressing dialogue our society must engage with, wrapped in a narrative that's as much about the soul as it is about the code.
Having traversed the realms of gaming, narrative design, and artificial intelligence, I strive to bring to the table not just a story but an invitation to explore the profound impact of technology through the lens of humanity. It's an exploration I'm eager to share and expand upon within this community of creatives.
I can't wait to start forming connections, exchanging wisdom, and immersing myself in the diverse knowledge this space holds. The journey of "Let the Earth Open" is just beginning, and I'm looking for like-minded individuals and potential collaborators who are captivated by the intersection of human experience and technological advancement.
Here's to the tales we tell—may they ripple out to the edge of the world.
Peace and love,
Oren

I agree, @Oren Shved. Great logline! I like the poster. One note though. The poster doesn't represent the story well (a hacker trying to stop the AI).

You're welcome, Oren Shved. The poster has the protagonist now, but the poster still doesn't represent the story well (a hacker trying to stop the AI).

Hey Oren Shved welcome to Stage 32! Thank you for sharing your project. It sounds like a timely and enticing story. One question. Can you shorten your logline a bit? To clarify and tighten you might consider something like:
"Following the assassination of his villainous sister, a naive hacker attempts to stop her catastrophic AI program from unleashing a global dark age."

Maurice Vaughan I see what you mean, but the story (much like Black Mirror) really focuses on the human side of the story. The fact that Ryan (the guy in the poster) has to solve his sister's murder and try to stop the AI while going back home to the estranged relationship he has with his sick father is imperative to his arc. His arc isn't about his abilities as a hacker, it's about overcoming the wounds from his past. Ultimately, the whole premise is about the humanity we are left with when facing a technology that changes everything around it.

Gotcha, Oren Shved. Maybe make a poster that reflects your last comment. When I looked at the old poster and the new poster, I pictured a Drama movie about a person and their neighborhood.
