Synopsis

Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, renowned for their enchanting tails, find themselves in a peculiar situation when a white rabbit leads them into the depths of Wonderland—a realm far beyond their wildest imaginations.

The rabbit, full of apologies and regret, confesses that the brothers' arrival in Wonderland was part of a larger scheme orchestrated by the Card Witch, a formidable sorceress with a penchant for turning intruders into ingredients for her infamous stew.

Determined to return home, the brothers and the rabit seek the wisdom of the Fairy Good Mother. Their journey is fraught with challenges, but along the way, they encounter three unique companions: a robot boy lacking a brain but filled with curiosity, a kangaroo void of a heart yet capable of unexpected kindness, and a giant crow, mighty in size but paralysed by his fear of scarecrows.

Unlikely Heroes and Lessons Learned: Each companion, reflecting the brothers own vulnerabilaties and strengths, joins them in their quest, offering insights and assistance. The robot boy teaches them the value of logic and creativity, the kangaroo shows the power of empathy and courage, and the giant crow helps them confront and overcome their fears.

AI - if it’s not, you write EXACTLY like chat gpt

Matthew

I’d even say you used gpt 3, not 4 - here’s what 4 did with your logline

Certainly! Here's a synopsis based on the provided outline:

### Synopsis: "Grimm's Wonderland"

In "Grimm's Wonderland," the legendary Grimm Brothers, known for their fascination with folklore and the mystical, stumble upon a mysterious portal during their research. This gateway unexpectedly transports them to the whimsical yet troubled world of Wonderland. Here, they meet the White Rabbit, a frantic creature desperately seeking help to evade the tyrannical rule of the Card Witch, who has plunged Wonderland into chaos and fear.

As they navigate this bewildering realm, the Grimm Brothers ally with an eclectic and improbable group: a brainless robot yearning for intelligence, a heartless kangaroo seeking emotion, and a crow that is paradoxically terrified of scarecrows. Each character is uniquely flawed, yet their imperfections become pivotal in their quest against the Card Witch.

The journey is fraught with challenges and obstacles cunningly crafted by the Card Witch, designed to exploit their deepest fears and weaknesses. These trials not only test their courage and wits but also lead them to a critical discovery: the secret behind the Card Witch's power. This revelation shapes their strategy to confront her and restore peace to Wonderland.

In an epic showdown, the group's newfound strengths come to the fore. The kangaroo finds compassion within its heartless existence, the robot exhibits unexpected ingenuity, and the crow confronts and conquers its fear. Their collective efforts lead to the defeat of the Card Witch, signaling the dawn of a new era in Wonderland, one filled with hope and rejuvenation. The White Rabbit's pivotal role in Wonderland's fate is also unveiled, adding a layer of mystique to the tale.

As their adventure concludes, the Grimm Brothers return to their world, profoundly changed by their experiences. They continue their work, now subtly infused with the magic and lessons learned from Wonderland. The story ends with a hint of lingering enchantment in their reality, suggesting that their adventures in the realms of the fantastical may be far from over.

"Grimm's Wonderland" is a tale of discovery, courage, and the power of embracing one's flaws. It weaves a narrative rich in fantasy, adventure, and the timeless charm of self-discovery, leaving the audience pondering the magic that lies just beyond the realm of the known.

Yeah, I picked up on Oz as well Julia Petrisor

I vote for AI.

Craig D Griffiths

I don’t care.

It is either written by AI or by someone without the talent to write it themselves and are considering AI to make up for their lack of skill and willingness to learn.

Mark Deuce

Thank you Matthew For sharing this! Did you not catch the misspelled words?

Mark Deuce

What do you think, would it catch the eye of a producer or director looking for a Grimm Fairytale to create? Craig D Griffiths Vikki Harris Mark Giacomin Julia Petrisor Matthew

@Mark AI. I instantly spotted Oz too. In synopsis the Card Witch wants to marry the Grimms before turning them into stew? LOL Some love hate satire in there. Agents & publishers have wised up with own built in detection tools as have Universities for student work. Ironically most are powered by AI to detect AI. Remember the Amazon “fake” reads in June? Thousands of books taken down. Titles included “Apricot Bar Code Architecture” LOL mind boggles. Regards log line & synopsis, nothing wrong with whacko ideas, we see enough on animation streams but crazy ideas that do work are also built into a logical story cement whereas AI seems to string random events together with cross pollinations of most characters. AI fails at development, craft & emotion at professional level but let’s find a middle ground here. It can also cut hours/days spent looking for very specific patterns in spec piles PRIOR to human eyes. Some may disagree AI fails certain hurdles I mention cos a lot is used already but is it work that eventually disappears into the ether? Even proofing I don’t know any producers/studios green light without human eyes. Working on my own writing example on plane soon & ask later on is it me or bot?

Reads like a perfectly fine logline and synopsis to me. I can't tell personally. The thought that we live in a time where a computer may have generated it is mind-blowing.

Debbie Croysdale

@CJ Agree to a certain extent & tech will only get better but a bit scary if adopted as the norm. Doesn’t seem to take into consideration financial logistics. Human readers pretty much get a gist of budget on an organic level first pages whereas some AI slush spits out multi million pound possibilities for even short scripts. @Mark re question attracting director/producer talent. I’d subvert a known & trending genre, “expected” reveals in a zone then turn it on it’s head. Could include being perturbed such as Grimms brothers were badass who have misdirected kids since time began & local tabby cat becomes protagonist ally.

CJ Walley

An AI platform I'm currently help beta test seems to estimate budgets reasonably well, and comes up with a low and high number depending on if a-list talent was used. It's a tricky subject because what one producer considers adequate production value and economical is often at odds with another, sometimes by a factor of ten.

I love the idea of AI being able to both estimate a budget and compare that with market value to find a sweet spot (if there is one).

Vincent DeVito

I would be surprised if AI wrote this because there are typos... hate to say it.

Jenean McBrearty

Must be AI because the story is actually a take-off (plagiarizing?) on Wizard of Oz. The errors come from a human typing out the AI text.

Mark Deuce I think producers would be attracted to IP in the public domain. AI love/hate aside, you could view it as a useful exercise to provoke ideas, that it is, not necessarily going with whatever is churned out, but using it as a diving board. My earliest form of creative writing (nothing to do with scripts) was looking at artwork... probably helped that I find Dali's work interesting. Paintings, novels, plays, films all influence/stimulate us but there is a spontaneity to it, a mental engagement. So, I get the antipathy to AI as a perceived soullessness about it. I don't use it. We aspire to write our own screenplays because there is a piece of our soul within it. That said, I would not have an ethical issue about using AI to create a synopsis from my completed work, and that's not necessarily me saying I would even use the end product, I just hate writing synopses. I like writing loglines, they may not be great, but it's part of the process.
