Hi All - I am preparing to launch a crowdfunding campaign for my animation/live action short. The current budget is $130k. Our strategy for funding is to get in, hit it hard and get out - within 30 days. Any advice on this approach? Media will be all organic social - no paid. (Note, everyone on this project is an advertising and production professional, and we will lean heavily into our networks for lift.) Thanks!

Martha Porter Fiszer hi Martha, from what I’ve heard, 30 days might be a little too short a time span.

From what I’ve heard, 30 days is fine. you’ll get most pledges in the first few days and last few days.
$130k is a big ask, though. For a short? that doesn’t add up.

One of the ways you can give yourself the best chance at raising your goal is to plan for a whole campaign and not just the start of it. Back when people did these campaigns a lot it would often be the case that they'd make all their materials for the launch of the campaign (when most of the money is typically raised) and then you'd get emails from friends in the last 72 hours asking if you can help them over the finish line. If you can generate enough material to keep your campaign interesting and engaging over the whole course of it, it'll remind people who are "maybes" thet you're still out there and encourage people who have engaged already to share it. The Super Troopers 2 campaign was particularly well managed in this regard.

Yep, good input Ewan Dunbar. I'm creating a social calendar to keep the momentum going.
