Since his teenage years, Jorge dreamt of producing his own movies. He was recognized by his classmates at school for his animated action stories that he drew in the edge of most of his text books.
When it came time to choose a career, the film industry in Mexico was in a deep crisis with limited future prospects. This motivated him to pursue a career in the advertising industry, where he could be the creative writer behind the stories. So he began his career in ad agencies as a copywriter.
Jorge's quick journey took him from DDB and DMBB to Leo Burnett, where he started as a copywriter and finished as Creative Director. There, his passion focused him on accounts that required significant TV production, such as Marlboro, P&G, Uniroyal Tires, Nissan Distributors, and Tecate beer, among others.
Tecate Beer, a brand under Cervecería Cuahutémoc in Monterrey, had a contract with Calmex Films, a Los Angeles-based production company, to produce all of its TV ads. Jorge developed a strong relationship with both, to a point his client invited him to work at their corporate offices. From Creative to client was a crazy move! But soon, Jorge managed to convince most of the brand managers of the other beer brands, to film their TV campaigns at Hollywood. This time Altavista Films was the production company with whom Jorge filmed more than 100 tv ads and campaigns. He had the opportunity to work with Hollywood cinematographers such as Dean Cundey, and Oliver Wood, both A.S.C.
After almost a decade of experience and freelance work, Jorge finally opened his own production company, Film Nation, in 2010. He has since produced a wide range of content, including documentaries, TV campaigns, social media content, music videos, and to participate in the 9th episode of the Netflix series "Becoming Champions".
Now, besides Film Nation, Jorge has partnered with the VFX company, based in Los Angeles, Chiaroscuro Media, with a strong focus in the 2D, 3D, live action/animation world..
