Good afternoon. I'm writing in reference to your philanthropic expertise and generosity. I've heard about your passion to giving back to the community and helping those in need. I am approaching you regarding our non profit, which is a multi faceted and multi layered non profit. Besides giving back to our community with 2 annual scholarships to Carle Place High School, we are fighting for changes in the motor vehicle laws, accountability with the DMV ( Nationally), a mandated DMV Data Base, education via the DMV, National Driver's Education, National High School Curriculums and Public Service Announcements. Stephen's Law, written by NY State Senator Jack Martins states: Any motor vehicle operator, operating any motor vehicle, who is unlicensed and/or has a suspended license, who causes injury or fatality during any motor vehicle accident, shall be charged with a felony in lieu of a misdemeanor. It's a pure common sense law. Yes, there will be checks and balances. The DMV must be accountable for their actions and/or inactions to prevent innocent people from a felony charge. Hence, if the DMV suspends someone for minor offenses or accidentally, they must have a system in place that notifies the Driver with verification via US Certified Mail, contact via recorded landline to the licensed driver and other referenced party's as mentioned below, complying with their civil rights/constitutional rights, (of course stating this call is recorded), email or contact via other social media with privacy and via the last known insurance carrier. Once the DMV has exhausted all means with documentation and records, they've met their expected accountabity. It's the Driver's responsibility to notify the DMV of change of address, phone number and insurance information. We'd like to implement all licensed Drivers who have email and social media accounts to register them with the DMV as well as next of kin and/or guardian, or employer's name and number, or close friend's name and number or all of the above, if available. While bringing the law to the forum, we must pass it in every state and streamline every State's DMV onto a National Data Base, whereas person's with suspended licenses cannot apply for a different State's license. It's against Federal Law to apply and receive a Drivers License in another State once your license is Supended in any State. If doing so, that is considered perjury. However, people do find a way past it, they go to State's that are NOT electronically in the Data Base. Hence, change is needed ASAP, necessary ASAP and is well over due to the degree of the difference between injuring and/or killing someone verses Saving Lives! Not One More Life!!! Our present goal, future goal and mission is to immediately bring Stephen's Law to a National forum starting with NY State, National Education as stated above and changed to the DMV. Our mission is to assist Motor Vehicle Accident Victims financially with their medical bills whether they do or do not have insurance, helping their families with their bills to avoid losing their homes and/or apartments, monies for everyday living and continued medical care for victims. Some accidents are severe whereas victims may need life support, funeral assistance, lose their jobs, motor function, neurological function and in need as on going psychiatric care in conjunction with continued medical care. We seek assistance with grant writing, fundraising, growth and development, assist with our mission and goals and most importantly, passing Stephen's Law TODAY! NY State will be our model State regarding all of the above. However, Stephen's Law, Education, DMV accountability and Stream Lining a NATIONAL Data Base must be in conjunction to Modeling NY State. It's imperative that SJFmemorial Fund get our message to all Americans and begin our MISSION, SAVING LIVES TOGETHER! We are in dire need of volunteer grant writers for everything from Start Ups, employees, leasing, big money donations in health and so much more. Please read our story via stephensfund.org.
