About Jaimy

Jaimy graduated from Pepperdine University with a BA in Theatre Arts and an emphasis in Communications. She is a professionally-trained dancer, having attended schools such as Juilliard, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Washington Ballet in D.C. In addition to working in administration for several years, Jaimy has also served as a dance instructor for close to ten years in a variety of genres, including tap, jazz, ballet, and musical theatre.

Although somewhat new to the world of screenwriting, Jaimy is no stranger to the entertainment world as a dancer and actress. However, she spent years and years of being discouragingly frustrated, both as a performer and as a lover of films and television, with her inability to find content that she connected with on every level – mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She did not care for content that just tickled people's ears and eyes or tried to shove a particular opinion down their throat. She liked content that made her feel like she was a part of something, that wrapped its fingers around her heart and invited her on an emotional journey that un-made and then remade her. She loved stories that made audiences think and allowed them to simultaneously endure the deepest sorrows alongside the greatest joys. With rare exceptions, this kind of content proved harder to find than she ever imagined. She expressed this frustration to a colleague one day prior to their theatre company’s trip to Edinburgh, Scotland to perform in the 2018 Fringe Festival, and he said something that has stuck with her to this day – “Stop complaining and start creating.” Some years later, Jaimy finally committed to take on that challenge and is actively striving to create and produce the type of content she longs to see and be a part of.
