Nancy Nave, a professionally trained, working actor in Los Angeles, originally from El Paso, TX, has worked in film, television, and commercials for over 16 years. She attended the University of Texas at El Paso on a volleyball scholarship, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Nancy started out in the corporate world, but decided to leave and start an at-home business to be hands-on to her three young sons. At the urging of her husband, she ventured into modeling, and soon caught the acting bug after being selected as a finalist for Season 2 of the modeling reality show, She's Got the Look, in 2007.
Nancy made her big-screen debut in the feature film Hours, which premiered at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival. The movie was directed by Oscar-nominated, Eric Heisserer and starred Paul Walker, of The Fast and the Furious fame. She continued her success in other films such as The Hollars, with John Kraskinski, and Bayou Caviar, starring Richard Dreyfuss.
Nancy has also worked on Grey’s Anatomy, Lethal Weapon, and Life In Pieces, to name a few of her TV appearances. She’s done over 100 commercials, including national spots for Walgreens, Jimmy Dean and Honda.
She is the co-founder of Chew Angry Productions, alongside her husband, Jason. Together they write, direct, produce and cast all projects, giving actors the opportunity to get involved and contribute their talents to independent film. Currently, three of their short films are showing on Amazon Prime. The goal for 2024 is to produce their first feature length film.
After her long-time talent agent stole thousands of dollars from her, Nancy became an advocate for actors in the film and television industry and eventually became a professional career coach for actors. She gathered evidence for investigators and consulted on the movie industry for the FBI. She’s the owner and founder of The Crafty Actor, career coaching services that provides digital courses and live coaching on how to become a working actor and break into the industry. And yes, her former agent now resides behind bars.
She encourages those curious about the business to, "Stop dreaming and start acting."
Nancy lives in the Los Angeles area and loves to run on the beach, watch movies on repeat, and travel.
