About Sam
I am a screenwriter with several screenplays in a variety of genres from rom-coms that could have mass appeal to micro-budget thrillers that could be made with very limited resources but gain a large audience by capturing the imagination.
I have a PhD in Political History, and have worked for the past twenty years in managerial roles in the UK’s National Heath Service. I am passionate about film, theatre, opera and music and have written two plays, six screenplays and one opera libretto as well as acting as a script editor on further plays. I have been a reviewer of theatre, opera, ballet and music for various websites since 2008, and have been studying screenwriting since 2012.

With these screenplays I have been a semi-finalist in the Stage 32 Romantic Comedy Screenwriting Contest, the StoryPros International Screenplay Contest, the StoryPros Awards, and the Filmmakers International Screenplay Competition, and a quarter-finalist in the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards. I also came in the top 15% in the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting.
