About James

I've been writing all my life, poetry, articles for the school newspaper, even lyrics to a Carlos Santana instrumental though he passed on using them.

Professionally, I'm a published author with articles and books in finance. I discovered screenwriting about 6 years ago and don't think I've ever done anything so difficult AND rewarding at the same time. I think screenplay writers are destined for self-punishment. The creative part, however, is immensely satisfying. To confirm I wasn't totally wasting my time I've entered a myriad of screenplay competitions to assure myself my writing wasn't awful. Thirty awards later with an increasing quality of awards, I have some assurance I'm on the right track. I've written 3 features and a series of 15, one-hour episodes about a horrendously difficult subject, theology, the 16th century Protestant Reformation. All of those log lines and synopses are here for all to read.

I read a line from an English philosopher who said, "We are not sent into this world to do anything into which we cannot put our hearts." ~ John Ruskin.

That's what I'm doing. Best wishes to all.
