My name is Shayla. I'm from Austin, Texas. I've been interested in screenwriting since 2016 when I took A/V classes in high school. I graduated from SFASU in 2023 with a Bachelor's in filmmaking and minor in creative writing. I have a finished horror feature length script that I'm looking to get feedback on, and submit to screenplay competitions. My end goal is to get my screenplay produced. It is more than welcome if anyone would like to connect and offer feedback or advice.
Thank you!
Hi Angela Mack! Thank you. It’s nice to meet you too. It’s cool to see someone nearby too!
I've placed in in Quarterfinals and semifinals in multiple competitions so far for three of my scripts.
Omg that’s so cool Asif Balouch! Congratulations!
Happy Thursday! Feature films are hotter than ever, and streamers and networks are actively on the lookout for fresh, original ideas. If you've got a story you've been dreaming to tell, this is your moment to get going in 2025! Who here is working on their own feature film script? I’d love to hear! :)
Congratulation on finishing your RomCom, Morgan Drasan!
Congrats Morgan Drasan on finishing your RomCom. For me, the Comedy part is difficult to write hahhaha
HI all, I just complete my screenplay and would like to submit it for a evaluation/review. Should I register it to copyright office first?

Only a copyright will protect you against infringement should it happen. And no, you do not really hold a copyright once you create something; copyright is attained by registering with the Government; I know it is said once you create something you are the owner/creator by virtue of doing But this will not hold up in court if you are infringed upon.
hahaha I hope no one take "good artis copy, great artis steal" literally in their professional life. Mike Childress

Expand commentIf one bothers writing a script, a professional will bother protecting the work with a proper copyright . . . something that will hold up in court if the work is compromised. So do not heed someone saying "I wouldn't stress over it..." that is simply poor advice. Consider yourself a professional and act accordingly. As Mike pointed out you are protected in the act of creating the work... but one shouldn't think this jungle cares about that. Protect yourself with something that will truly stand up in court. You may have that "great idea" that someone will steal for . . .

Even if it’s periodic I believe it would be beneficial to have a buddy to keep in contact with in regard to our current progress of our projects.
If this sounds like something you’ve also been searching for please let me know :)
Have a great night!
Hi Brittany. I always try to make myself available to act as a support to any writer out there, so feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to.
Hi Brittany, I would love to discuss and support any fellow writer out there. Please let me know if you need one.
Hi, Brittany, I’d be happy to collaborate with you by all means. If you’re interested then let’s discuss more details. Have a good day!

I’d love to connect with fellow creatives—whether you’re a writer, director, producer, or just someone who loves film and TV. Let’s learn from each other and grow together!
What’s a project that’s inspired you recently? Let’s chat in the comments!
Hi, Donny. Wonderful to get to know you. Drama is truly inspiring. Nicely said about the power of storytelling. I perfectly agree
I've seen THE MARTIAN, Donny Woo. It's incredible! WESTWORLD is on my watchlist. I don't think I've heard of SUNSHINE. Is your Sci-Fi script gonna take place in space?

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB

Expand commentLynelle Paulick and to all the people reading this blog. Based on my experience as a screenwriter and AI user, I can say that the future won’t be about creativity but about speed. In the sense that, given equal creative ability among screenwriters (with or without AI), the one who meets deadlines the fastest will be chosen. And when it comes to speed, artificial intelligence is truly an accelerator.
I was able to turn a 60-page film treatment into a 20-page screenplay outline in just half a day by using AI to condense the scenes. Of course, human supervision is and, in my opinion, will always remain essential.

I've saved hundreds of hours of manual effort in usng Text-to-Speech AI in turning already completed original screenplays into recorded drama podcasts, to test drive scripts on an audience as "table reads," with https://youtu.be/hSFJDAxJYXU if you're interested.
Greg, I'll check this out! Will let you know. Thanks.
