Dear Carlisle, thank you very much for this account of your personal experience with racial prejudice. I'm shocked to learn about the high suicide rate of Native American teens. What could illustrate a hopeless situation better than this? In a world, where the international leaders are meeting right now to negotiate ways to protect the environment and the earth from destruction, so much could be learned from the deep respect and connection Native Americans naturally had for the earth and all life forms. But nobody wants to listen. And nobody really wants to change anything, because it would mean changing our life styles. I was totally appalled to read about the Adam Sandler production "The Ridiculous Six". How ridiculous must the people who produce and finance such a movie have become? I feel anger and powerlessness in the face of so much ignorance and disrespect, even if it was meant to be satirical. There are jokes that are just not funny at all. I admire the stamina you have to go on fighting for your material. I have written a script where the guilt question over a massacre on Native Americans in the 1860s is looked at from an unusual perspective. People I pitched it to said "very original, but I don't know who I could sell this to." I don't know if I'll go on and on to try. I wish you a lot of perseverance and success to bring your important message to the world! My very best wishes from Berlin, Germany.

Wow, what a great blog. I pray you get your film made. This is a story my mother spoke of often. She had Cherokee blood along with other nationalities but she strongly felt the pain of the Indian. Best wishes on Dreaming your movie into reality. I believe!

A very inspiring read. I would love to see such a documentary get made, and I know it can be. When there are a dream and a spiritual will, things have a habit of falling into place -- look at Jodorowsky's body of work.

Deep-deep and so sticking. As if a sleeping giant just reawakened. I am sure that this story meant to be heard and you will make it, just get started. You will be so surprised that everything will come together. I'm just a beginner but I did my story and I produced it and without much struggle the right characters just arrived and worked for credit.

Simply Brilliant Carlisle. As a fellow dreamer I too believe that sometimes we just need to march at our own drum and take the lead in what we hope to share with the world. I was the same way with my book projects. I knew I had a story to tell and wasn't about to wait for a traditional publisher to come knocking on my door. I was going to publish the book myself and that is precisely what I did. Now I have six published books on the market, four of which have become bestsellers. I'm taking the same approach with film. I know I have so much to say with my film projects and they will see the light of day with or without the support of a major studio. That is the great part about filmmaking in this day and age. We CAN do it ourselves by supporting one another and not being afraid to lead by example. Dream are powerful! I pray that you will be able to produce this film as it is greatly needed! It is amazing the rise in teen suicide everywhere. It saddens me that it is so high in the Native American culture. We are all brothers and sisters from the same God and He expects us to love and help each other!
