Gregg Simon has produced and directed films, episodic television, commercials, and music videos. He has had the distinct pleasure of working with and being mentored by some of film and television’s finest including Deran Sarafian, Dan Attias, David Straiton, and Brett Ratner.
Gregg’s first short film, THE FINAL RESOLUTION, screened at 15 international film festivals around the world and earned him a slot as a finalist in the PROJECT GREENLIGHT: DIRECTORS COMPETITION.
Gregg continued on to be honored at the Clio Awards by SHOOT magazine in being selected for THE NEXT GENERATION: NEW DIRECTORS SHOWCASE where he was one of 15 directors selected from around the world as “up and coming” talent. His commercial credits include spots for Discovery Channel, DTC (DeBeers), and Optimum Lightpath.
Gregg was also selected by MVWIRE for its MUSIC VIDEO DIRECTORS ON THE RISE spotlight. As a pioneer in full high definition production for Panasonic, he was commissioned to produce / direct a video for Three Graces (Decca Records) using their latest full high definition camera system. His other music video and promo clients include labels such as EMI Music, Virgin Records, Razor & Tie Entertainment, and PCMG/5050 Music Group.
In 2011, Gregg began a new chapter in his career and partnered with veteran helmer Deran Sarafian to start Broken Toy; a new film and television production company. Together they have developed and sold projects including the pilot; ONE MILE STRAIGHT DOWN to SyFy along with screenwriter Skip Woods (A Good Day To Die Hard, X-Men Origens: Wolverine). They are currently in various stages of development on several other episodic and feature film projects.
Gregg Simon has since worked on some of television’s most riveting pilots and series including HEMLOCK GROVE (Netflix), HOUSE M.D. (Fox), THE CAPE (NBC), PAST LIFE (Fox), and K-VILLE (Fox).
