About Don

The two gals in my profile picture are my Great Aunts, Kate & Mabel. I believe this picture was taken sometime in the mid-1960's. Aunt Kate (the one on the left) is my Aunt by blood, Mable was her partner and just as much my Aunt. They were a hoot and by far my favorite Aunts. Kate died at the age of ninety-three. I was thirteen at the time and devastated by her loss. Mabel remained a big part of my childhood and died not too many years later at the age of ninety-one. It wasn't until I was well into my twenties that I figured out what they really meant to each other. They lived and traveled the world happily together for nearly forty five years.
