Holly Ruth

Holly Ruth’s distinctive approach to makeup as an art form is inspired by her Father, who was a Master Artist from the Parsons School in multiple mediums; and her Mother, who introduced her to the feminine side of the world and brought her to her first cosmetics counter when Holly was 13. Both of her parents taught her about beauty but also practicality in artistic approach. Holly excelled in the theater world from a young age and although she is a classically trained actor, she gravitated to character and beauty makeup for stage and screen. She considers makeup a theatrical art form and is intrigued with the idea of makeup being an expression and amplification of the personality within each of her clients and their characters.

Holly Ruth is a certified Master Makeup Artist and instructor with over 18 years of experience in the film/video, photo, corporate and fashion industries. Her experience includes positions as Key Makeup and Hair Artist, Motion Picture Makeup Instructor, Film Supervising Makeup Artist, and she is a Featured Artist for an international cosmetic company. Holly is a graduate of the Academy of Cosmetic Arts and is also certified in makeup and hair for HD Film and Special Effects. Her goal on each assignment is to create a result which is seamless and flawless. She gives her directors and photographers the immediate results they desire to give them the freedom to create their worlds. Professionalism is her trademark, in makeup, in interactions and in the relationships within her projects.
