Come Up Here
Another quick short horror film scene we put together in a night.
And as usual, there's a Stephen King easter egg hidden in here. Let me know if you spot it!
Growing up my great-grandma used to tell us a story about her being home alone one day in her family's house. She heard her dad calling her from upstairs, come here. Confused thinking she was the only one home, she slowly went upstairs. Come up here. When she got to the landing of the staircase, she looked out the window, and at that moment saw her dad pulling into the driveway of the house. No one was upstairs.
Growing up she used to tell us stories like this all the time and is probably one of the reasons why I love horror so much. Nothing super scary, just unsettling "well that happened" type horror.
I've been wanting to do something with this concept and had the opportunity to pick up a silicone mask from Composite Effects from Facebook Marketplace. We drove 8 hours round trip through a northern Wisconsin blizzard to buy it, and it was definitely worth it.
I shot some test shots the night before, so I could see how I wanted to shoot it, and then filmed it the next night. This time I got to break out the Dana Dolly for a couple of shots, something I've been wanting to add.
I also finally remembered to set up a behind the scenes camera while we filmed it, and plan on putting a BTS video for it here in the near future.
Let us know what you think and share it for others to watch! We have a bunch more ideas to do. We also are working on some longer fleshed out stories, and hope to be working on those soon.

That was creepy, Andrew Gibbs! And scary! Great job on the film! I don't know if I saw the Stephen King easter egg. I was looking though. :D
