I am a composer dedicated to creating truly unique and engaging music for film, television and digital media. I approach every project with the understanding that the ultimate goal of a good composer is not to 'shine' by drawing the viewer's attention to an overly dramatic or "showy" score, but to create music that enhances the heart of the story.
A score should be subtle when restraint is needed, intense when the action calls for it, and evocative when the emotion is palpable. Setting an appropriate tone for every scene is vital. If I had to summarize my approach when scoring a project it would be that "Dialogue Is King." Dialogue is the heart of every story. It determines all the right or wrong choices a composer can make.
As the saying goes, "The film is your baby." I aim to help nurture that baby to cinematic maturity. It's all about creating a score that is a successful part of the film's landscape. Working with the director, producer, and/or music department to create a score that compliments both picture and producers alike is the ultimate goal of an experienced composer. The composer's goal is not to stand apart, but become a part; creating that invisible musical character that seductively whispers in your ear scene by scene.
I cover a wide range of styles and moods ranging from evocative underscores, to aggressive hybrid orchestral music, to EDM. My favorite genre-specific specialties include Eerie and / or Emotionally Evocative Underscores, Horror, Hybrid Orchestral Tension mixed with elements of Electronica or Rock, High Intensity Action and Trailer style music, Multiple Genres of EDM, and Uniquely Ambient Mood Setters that stand apart from many of the clichés that often can be found in film music.
I've had music featured in hundreds of unique Television series' spanning nearly a thousand different episodes. From the domestic US to Europe and Asia; from ABC to Showtime, BBC to CNN. I've scored films ranging from dramatic, to documentary, to avant-garde. Music is my passion and if I could sum up my philosophy it's: Television puts bread on the table, but Film feeds the soul.
Not only can I create a unique score that will help bring your film to life, I also have many pre-made cues available for license for projects needing music quickly or affordably. For enquiries contact me either here, or at my website below.
