Random question, but what age do you think is the average age that people get "discovered"?
Too many variables involved. Some people get discovered fast, some people start much younger than others and the definition of being discovered could mean different things to different people.

I know listening to other people and wanting to do what they want you to do will only go so far. I think if acting is what you want to do, then go for it. BUT in my experience, I didn't listen to my father, and truthfully, although I thought I was gaining a degree for him and my family, years later, I really wish I did it for ME because I ended up not doing it at all. And even though I felt like I let him down, I really let myself down instead. But your really young, 2 years are going to fly by regardless of what you do, but my advice would be the degree, I was in your shoes once and well, I blew everything off, and now I wish I hadn't. Just my opinion. I too though that life would pass me by if I didn't start when I turned 18, but it didn't and I don't think it's going to. People want actors of all shapes and sizes, all age ranges. Whatever you do, just know that years later, you'll be reflecting on this decision and hopefully you'll be smarter and wiser. Good luck to you :)
