Thank you to everyone making me feel so welcome and adding me to your networks =) I just finished my first novel (for the fifth time lol ) and seen as it came in at just under 54,000 words I am playing with the idea of turning into a script. I have a lot to learn but in some way or another we all do. Happy writing and creating to all.

Expand commentI would suggest now is the time to consider your book as a screenplay, TL - you know the story, now the easy part, perhaps a simple three act structure, the set up, first turning point, mid point, second turning point, resolution - let's not forget the subtext, foreshadowing - do your characters arc? - as easy as that - seriously, it's a lot of fun, try it, I'm certain you will grasp the mechanics of this norm of storytelling - good luck and welcome.
Thanks I think I will try it =)
Fear nothing, you commence a new adventure, you will enjoy the experience.

HI Doug it is nice to meet you =) I write mostly short stories but recently finished my first full length novel (well I have rewritten it for the fifth time lol) I am playing around with the idea of making it into a script but lets face it the thought of a new form of creative energy kind of scares me just a tad.
Hi everyone I am TL and I am very new to Stage32 just a few days new =) I am looking forward to having a look around and meeting some of you. I am a writer full of ideas and a degree in professional procrastination so hopefully being on here will kick my butt into getting those ideas onto paper and out of my head. =) Happy Writing and creating to all.

Expand commentI don't get it. Writers write every day. There no rule that say you have to love every minute of it. sometimes it's not fun at all. Just write anything, it becomes a habit. Writing to me is not a process of organizing a system around a novel, a play etc. although it can be, sometimes I open a book of paintings. I walk into the painting and write what I don't see when I'm standing outside. "Oh look there a fucking bear heading my direction" Dreams, write down dreams in waking hours. Write poems, read poems out loud. Read authors you like. Who has time to procrastinate? Well I guess I can fit a little procrastination in there somewhere. dh
I mean, I agree, but at the same time, I'm not going to beat myself up if life gets in the way. But in a sense, we all do write everyday but I guess I don't always feel like it counts if it's not working on one of my current projects.
in my humble OPINION
