About Steve

I'm a Chicago native, a USC Film School alumnus, a proud member of the WGA, and a working writer/director in Los Angeles. I try to teach one or two webinars for Stage 32 every year.

My first feature film, "Knock at the Cabin," was released theatrically earlier this year from Universal Studios and director M. Night Shyamalan. It opened at # 1 at the box office, and subsequently # 1 on VOD and # 1 on Peacock. My second feature film is currently in production at Paramount Animation, and will be released in theaters in fall, 2024.

My screenplays have been voted onto the prestigious industry Black List four times, including in 2020 with "The Saturday Night Ghost Club," which I am attached to direct with Brad Fuller (A Quiet Place) producing. I sold a sci-fi adventure screenplay, "Harry’s All-Night Hamburgers," to Warner Bros in a bidding war, with an Oscar nominated producer attached. Over the years, I've also been hired to work on projects for Legendary Pictures, Paramount, Blumhouse, and Mandalay, amongst others. My short film, "Monsters", that I wrote and directed, has amassed over two million views online and screened in over 100 film festivals worldwide, winning 46 awards, including Best Short Film at the Comic-Con International Film Festival, in addition to being named a Vimeo Staff Pick.

I'm represented by CAA and Ziffren Brittenham LLP.
